About Napierian GIS Technologies (Pty) Ltd
"Learning made local"
Napierian GIS Technologies (Pty) Ltd is a high-tech company specialising in the development and marketing of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) products aimed specifically at the educational market. The company offers educators a reliable, high-quality toolset, such as their premier product, Geomatica, for the creation of learning materials and project-based education.
Established in April 2003, Napierian is a private company based in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, and is owned by its principal investors and operators.
Napierian is committed to providing technological tools to educators in a bid to make learning local.
Our Vision
To research, develop and market high quality, educationally sound learning materials and related staff development programmes for South African schools using the power and potential of GIS applications.
Our Mission
The development of an integrated GIS based technology and methodology to implement, facilitate and promote outcomes based multi-disciplinary teaching and learning for South African schools using local expertise and data.
Our Team
Just recently our team has expanded to enable us to do more of what we are good at! Here's the low down:
We are headed up by our Managing Director Clyde Mallinson who makes appearances at conferences and exhibitions and makes many of our strategic contacts for us. The business is run on a day-to-day basis by Debbie Stott, General Manager. She also does a lot of the development of resources that compliment the Geomatica atlases. She is ably assisted by Nadine Cloete as an administrator, who works part time for Napierian. Our Marketing Manager, Denese Palm works hard to ensure that we are known in the marketplace! Last but not least, we use the services of Caryll Tyson who designs and compiles the digital atlases (i.e. the technical GIS stuff!).
