3. What will I find on the Downloads page?
Downloads are only available to Geomatica subscribers. Depending on the type of subscriber you are, you will have access to different downloadable resources.
The categories are mostly arranged by the Geomatica data sets (or modules). So for example, if you are working with the Geomatica Titanium Atlas, click on that category to see what resources are available there.
The other categories are concerned with:
- Geomatica Skills. These are the Geomatica Skills Suite documents which allow educators and learners alike to learn certain Geomatica (GIS) skills that will enable them to enhance their usage of the Geomatica data sets and to underake many of the additional lessons and worksheets available in the downloads section.
- Artilces and White Papers. These are publications that are relevant to Geomatica and sometimes provide a theoretical background to our product philosophy.
4. How do I save Geomatica downloads?
Documentation and Lesson Plans
Once the download file has opened, it is suggested that you save it to your Geomatica\Documentation folder. This documentation folder has two further folders (Teacher and Learner Documentation; Technical Documentation). You should think about creating some sub folders of your own to organise your downloaded files.
As far as names are concerned use these ideas: For PDF files: use the title as shown on the front page For ZIP files: use the name of the download on the Geomatica website
Data Sets
Once the download file has opened, it is suggested that you save it to your Geomatica\ folder. Most of the data sets will include the path that ensures that the data set is stored with all other data sets under Geomatica\Atlas Data\name of data set
